An ongoing cost-benefit analysis of the Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center (the Center) project attracted quite a bit of media attention, with TMG mentioned numerous times (see the weblinks below). The project involved TMG conducting a comprehensive analysis of operational and cost efficiencies of the Center given the decrease in juvenile incarceration rates.
The City of Alexandria, City of Falls Church, and County of Arlington have oversight of the Center and engaged TMG to lead this effort. The project involved interviews and focus groups with individuals representing court officials, Center staff, contractors, detained youth and their families, law enforcement, service providers, elected officials, and funding agencies. TMG also launched an online survey to collect feedback on the current impact of the Center on the three jurisdictions and the possibility of relocating youth to another nearby detention center.
